Underwater rescuers fish out two persons missing in pond

Barahathahawa (Sarlahi). The underwater rescuers have fished out the bodies of two persons who had gone missing in a pond after a car they were in plunged into it at Bayalbas of Ishworpur municipality in Sarlahi early this morning.

The lifeless bodies of Ram Kant Thakur, 37, and Suresh Mahato,38, were taken out by the divers.

A car (Lu 2 Cha 6758) heading to Mahottari from Sarlahi district had plunged into the pond at Minyakhor of Ishworpur-2. Thakur was from Sonwa rural municipality-8 and Mahato from Gaushala municipality-10.

However, Jank Yadav, 31, who was together in the travel, braved the tragedy by swimming. Yadav is from Gaushala-2, Mahottari.

A team of divers from the Armed Police Force was mobilized to search and rescue the missing ones, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dipak Shrestha.

The dead bodies are being taken to Provincial Hospital, Malangawa for postmortem. Investigation into the incident is underway, the police added.
