Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has reaffirmed his party’s dedication to steering the country in the right direction.

During the opening session of the party’s 11th National Congress in Sallaghari, Bhaktapur today, Chairman Oli remarked that despite facing numerous obstacles and criticisms, there has been a significant surge in public support for the UML.

He emphasized that the UML will persist in its mission to create a prosperous nation without resorting to political theatrics, and that all entities advocating for good governance and development stand behind the party.

“Democracy is unassailable, and the CPN-UML is unbreakable,” Oli said, adding that a force like the UML, committed to democracy and the welfare of the people, must be established as a decisive national power. “We are progressing towards a future that promises prosperity and happiness for the entire nation.”

According to him, the stronger the Communist Party grows, the more robust nationalism will become. “The UML has been at the forefront of social justice. For the citizens, this power is essential for their livelihood.” The UML Chair underscored that the UML has led the way in promoting inclusivity, having integrated it across all areas of national politics.

Focusing on UML’s initiatives to develop socialism tailored to Nepali needs, he pointed out that the UML championed village-centered and participatory development alongside significant development projects.

Reminding attendees of the impressive turnout at the general convention, Chairman Oli expressed confidence in the reinstatement of the dissolved parliament.

He noted that although the state and its institutions have been compromised due to infiltration during the Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9, he believes that democracy will be restored on the basis of peaceful and just governance.

Furthermore, he criticized the current government for engaging in biased and unconstitutional practices instead of fostering election-friendly environment.
