At least four people were killed and eight others injured when a truck overturned in Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province on Thursday, local rescue officials said.

The accident occurred in Bhalwal city of Sargodha district, state-run Rescue 1122 said in a statement.

According to the official, the truck was carrying fodder and had 12 laborers on board at the time of the accident. The vehicle reportedly lost balance and overturned on the roadside, trapping several people underneath.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene and launched an operation to pull out the victims.

Four people were pronounced dead at the spot. The bodies and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
