Kathmandu। Laxman Thapa has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Ila Hotel & Resort. The Board of Directors of IME Hospitality appointed Thapa to the position, effective from Chaitra 5.

Thapa brings over two decades of experience in the hospitality management sector. He has held leadership roles in high-end hotels, resorts, and casinos across Nepal as well as in countries such as Vanuatu, Maldives, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

Prior to joining IME Hospitality, Thapa served as Chief Operating Officer at Siddhartha Hospitality Group, where he led the operations of more than 30 hotels, resorts, cafés, and venues. Earlier, he worked in various leadership roles at Hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu, Iririki Island Resort & Jewel Casino in Vanuatu, CG Hospitality in Chitwan, and Tiger Palace Resort in Bhairahawa.

He also has experience working with renowned international brands such as Le Méridien Dubai, The Westin Langkawi, Sheraton Maldives, Aloft Abu Dhabi, and Rosewood Jeddah. The company believes that Thapa’s international exposure and proven leadership in Nepal will significantly contribute to enhancing service quality and strengthening operations at IME Hospitality.

Under IME Hospitality, the company manages several hotels and resorts, including Hotel Le Himalaya in Lazimpat, Kathmandu; Lakeside Retreat in Pokhara; and Hotel Ila in Baglung and Gaindakot, among others. IME Hospitality is a hospitality arm of the IME Group.

Following his appointment, Thapa expressed his commitment to elevating Ila’s service standards, strengthening service culture, expanding it’s network across various tourist destinations in the country and achieving sustainable and result-oriented growth.
