Dhanusha, A literature and international drama festival is going to be held in Janakpurdham for promotion of Maithali language, literature, art, culture, finance and tourism. The Maithali Development Fund is going to organize the festival at Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Cultural Centre from February 1 to 5.

There will be 20 sessions during the 5-day festival during which discussion on politics, economics, literature and social issues will be held, said Jivnath Chaudhary, Chairperson of the Fund. A total of eight plays from Nepal and India would be staged during the Festival.

Plays would be shown in Maithali, Nepali, Hindi, Assamese and Bengali language, added Chaudhary. Also, the festival will feature host of events such as painting exhibition, book exhibition, drama exhibition and Mithila cuisine among others, the organizers said.
