China has merged history into new technology (video)

The upcoming 2025 First Himalayan Region Image Tour, scheduled to take place in Nepal from December 14 to 21, is already generating excitement across the region. Organized by a major Chinese television station, the event aims to deepen cultural connection and mutual understanding between Nepal and China through storytelling, travel, and shared experiences. Among the highlighted features is the inspiring journey of Sabina Gopali, a Nepali economics student currently studying at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. Her story offers a warm preview of the cultural richness and human connection the tour hopes to celebrate.
The tour’s organizers have selected Sabina as one of the shining examples of young Nepalis thriving in China. Through her experiences, viewers can see firsthand how cultural exchange can transform perspectives, build friendships, and strengthen ties between the two nations. Her adventure in Beijing, captured in a vibrant video segment, shows her embracing local traditions, exploring iconic locations, and discovering new interests such as Beijing Opera.
Sabina’s journey begins in one of Beijing’s most scenic spots, Ching Chang Park, where traditional Chinese architecture stands side by side with sleek modern designs. “China has merged history into new technology,” she says while taking in the breathtaking views of the Forbidden City area. Her fascination reflects the deeper message of the Image Tour: celebrating places where culture, innovation, and community come together.
Her exploration continues into lively markets and traditional food streets, where she tries local snacks offered by friendly vendors. Sabina excitedly samples treats, describing them as delicious, juicy, and unforgettable. Her enthusiasm captures the spirit of discovery that the Image Tour aims to inspire among participants visiting Nepal in December.
One of the highlights of her cultural immersion is her visit to the historic Beijing Opera House. There, Sabina experiences a live Beijing Opera performance, a moment she describes as “very amazing” and “perfect in every way.” Her appreciation for the art form runs deep, even extending into her academic life. At her university, Sabina participates in cultural activities such as acting in Chinese theatrical pieces. With encouragement from her teacher, she even prepares to perform as Mulan, showcasing her growing confidence and admiration for Chinese heritage.
Sabina’s bond with her teachers and classmates reflects the theme of friendship emphasized by the 2025 Image Tour. In one heartwarming moment, she proudly shows a traditional Chinese skirt gifted to her by her teacher. These small yet meaningful experiences highlight the personal connections that form through cultural exchange.
As Sabina looks ahead to three more years in China, she expresses excitement about exploring more cuisine, attending cultural events, and visiting new places. Her message to viewers is simple and inviting: “If you are willing to visit China, welcome to China.”
