Second wave of COVID-19: 6,731 new cases reported in past 24 hours

Kathmandu : A total of 6,731 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
The new cases were confirmed from 20,992 tests-20,414 PCR tests and 578 antigen tests- conducted during the same period, the Ministry said in a routine press conference here today.
With the new cases, the COVID-19 caseload has reached 542,256 since the first Coronavirus infection case was confirmed in the country in January, 2020.
Similarly, 7,226 COVID-19 patients have enjoyed recovery in the past 24 hours which puts the recovery caseload at 418,829 (77.2 %). Likewise, 106 people were reported to have succumbed to the flu-like infection today.
With this, COVID-19 fatalities in the country reached 6,951 as of now According to the Ministry, 116,476 people suspected and infected with COVID-19 have been receiving treatment in isolation facilities across the country while 1,009 were quarantined.
