National Assembly passes condolence motion
A meeting of the National Assembly today passed a condolence proposal on the demise of Constituent Assembly member and former Minister of State, Meena Pandey.
The Upper House of the Federal Parliament unanimously endorsed the condolence motion proposed by the National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina.
The Assembly has expressed heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Pandey and extended deep sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.
Pandey was elected the Member of the House of Representatives (HoR), the lower house of the parliament, from the Nepali Congress in 2048 BS and 2051BS and to the Constituent Assembly in 2064 BS and the HoR in 2074 BS on proportional representation quota from the party.
She served as the Minister of State for Women, Children and Social welfare and was considered a composed and down-to-earth leader. She passed away on May 30 at the age 72.
The National Assembly will next meet at 1:00pm on June 5.
