Construction of administrative buildings of Lumbini province sees 50 per cent progress

Lumbini . Construction of administrative infrastructure structures of Lumbini Province government is underway in an expedited manner at Deukhuri, the capital of Lumbini Province.

More than 50 per cent physical progress has been achieved within one-and-a-half year from the beginning of the construction of administrative infrastructures, the project of province pride. The then Chief Minister, Leela Giri, has laid the foundation stone for the administrative buildings on the establishment day of Lumbini Province government on Falgun 3, 2079 BS (15 February 2023).

All the administrative activities of the province would be conducted from the administrative buildings, it is sad. Ministries, departments, directorates and other subordinate offices would provide their services from one place, which will make the people feel about the presence of province government.

A local Bharat Mani Neupane said, “Province should have its own structures to make itself strong. A well-equipped administrative centre is necessary to make administrative activities efficient and accessible to all.”

According to Province Capital Construct Project Implementation Unit, 56 per cent physical and 45 per cent financial progress has been achieved so far. Construction activities are underway in order to hand over the administrative buildings to the province government within a year.

Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya said a target has been set to start administrative activities from newly constructed building within a year, adding it would make easier to both—service providers and service recipients.He has directed the construction company to complete the construction activities on time.

The administrative centre of the province covers 19 bighas of area where 10 administrative buildings, including a secretariat building for the office of the Lumbini province government, Council of Ministers. The estimated cost for the construction of the administrative centre is Rs 3 billion and 90 million.
