Kathmandu : Three people have died in separate incidents in Makawanpur, Rukum West and Darchula districts in the last 24 hours.

In Makawanpur, a container driver died when the container he was driving collided with a truck along the Hetauda-Narayangadh road at Newarpani of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-19.

The driver, 38-year-old Govinda Chaudhary from Piparabhitta, Ward 15, Barahathawa Municipality, Sarlahi, was rescued by locals and rushed to the CMC Churehill Hospital in Hetauda for treatment.

The District Police Office, Makawanpur stated that the doctor immediately declared him dead. The police have taken the truck driver, 42-year-old Dhaneswar Chaudhary from Khairahani Municipality-9, Chitwan, into custody.

In Rukum West, police said that an elderly person died today after being crushed by a log of wood in Musikot Municipality-11 of the district. Seventy-five years old Sarun Oli died after the log fell on him while removing it from a stack of logs at a house construction site in Syabang, located in Ward No. 11, Musikot Municipality.

In Darchula, an election police person died after falling off a cliff while returning home from Darchula. Prakash Dhami, 40, from Lekam Rural Municipality-2, who sustained serious injuries from the fall, passed away during treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi, according to Police Inspector and Information Officer Hemraj Bhatta of the District Police Office.

Dhami was injured after falling from a cliff in Lekam Rural Municipality-1. The District Police Office said that he died today while undergoing treatment in Dhangadhi.
