Kathmandu : This year’s Hridayachandra Memorial Award was conferred on senior literary figure Ram Binaya on Monday in Kathmandu on the occasion of the establishment day of Sahitya Sadan Nepal and the 111th birth anniversary of veteran writer Hridayachandra Singh Pradhan.

Binaya was awarded for his significant contributions to the social transformation through literature for more than six decades.

Former Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Upreti, senior critic Prof Dr Dayaram Shrestha, litterateur Koshraj Neupane, Sahitya Sadan Nepal’s Chairman Prof Dr Hemnath Poudel and former minister as well as litterateur Shanta Manabi jointly provided the award to Ram Binaya. The award carries a purse of Rs 50,000 in cash.

On the occasion, an academic publication named ‘Sahitya Sadan’ was also unveiled.
