Kathmandu : Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has extended best wishes on the occasion of Gyalpo Lhosar today. He wished the festival inspired everyone to work for the national prosperity.

The Gyalpo Lhosar, 2153 being observed as the New Year helps us reinforce religious reverence, social harmony, cultural glory and national unity. He further wished peace, progress and prosperity on this occasion.

The festival builds intimacy in family, friends and community, he said in the message, adding that the cultural events held on Gyalpo Lhosar reflect a rich diversity of Nepali society. The festival is not only limited to Sherpa community but also extended as common festival of entire Nepali society, the Vice President reminded.

Yadav further said the preparation of special cuisine also shows the protection of indigenous food and culture.
